What is PDLC Smart Film?
The PDLC Smart Film is based on digital shading technology that allows the color of the film to go from non-transparent to transparent when a current is applied through it.
The
technology known as Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) film is based on
LCD crystals sandwiched between layers of PET plastic film.
With power on the crystals are aligned in the same direction and thus allow
light to pass through, but when switched off the crystals are misaligned with
each other preventing light to pass through and thus the film becomes opaque
(Power OFF).
How
about the Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) Smart Technology Works?
POWER ON = Transparent
By
applying electric current to the crystals within the film, you are able to
align the crystals and thus transit light through the glass.
POWER OFF = Opaque
By removing the electric current to the crystals within the film, you are able to misalign the crystals and thus prevent the transmittance of light through the glass.
Rather than replacing your windows with an expensive privacy glass, apply the ASW Smart Film to your existing windows. When you turn the film on, the glass becomes transparent. When you turn the film off, you enjoy the benefits of privacy while still letting in natural light.
You can control the transparency of your glass in one of four ways: from a switch on the wall or a remote control. Control with your smart phone and even voice-control is a possibility.
